Learning Chicago Blues Guitar Lick Samples - Shun Kikuta Page Two

The visual presentation is not accompanied by voice over so we need to refer to the reassuringly thick pamphlet which I have to say I need my glasses and a magnifying glass to read, I am clinging to it like a life line. The guitar lessons begin after a short introduction and are divided into 5 basic sections interspersed with footage of Shun and his blues band. The best way to see what's on offer is to look at the menu below. If you are willing to work there is a ton of great blues guitar here - a great value - leave it to an independent to give you more for your money!

Is this for a total novice? - well as a blues lover I would buy it to use as a Blues guide and do the best I could with what I had. But as your very first Intro to guitar playing, I recommend you learn some basic foundation first. Buy it anyway!

Then this will really point you in a blues direction and give a real boost. Its more for those who already have some blues guitar smarts but want to see how the pro's do it and learn-refine their techniques.

There is not a lot of hand holding here and basically no theory - you pick your guitar and follow along as best you can. But this in no fancy, flashy, style over substance production. Shun obviously knows what we need to know having been a serious blues guitar student himself and he lets us have it with both barrels. Arigatou gozaimasu!
