Slow Blues in the Style of Jeff Beck - Michael Casswell
Page One

front cover OK in this Quick Licks from Licklibrary guitar instructional we are "in the style of " Jeff Beck. Per usual Licklibrary never gives you a pamphlet.  Nothing changed there!

The 'Quick Licks' appellation means 'in the style of' or 'no songs' but rather getting Becks sound and guitar techniques in to focus instead. This concept is loosely interpreted.

Guitar students are fortunate to have Michael Casswell as their instructor whose teaching style I like and recommend. Its helps that Jeff Beck is Mike's favorite guitar player so we are sure to glean some helpful and insightful guitar knowledge. We do too! Michael is also a great user of the tremelo arm or whammy bar and even has his own tremelo arm guitar lesson.

Know this however: Michael has, not one, but three Jeff Beck Customs shop Strats which contribute to Jeff Becks sound and he uses them in this lesson. Fortunately Mike also has a non custom shop Jeff Beck Strat he likes the most. Jeff also uses some pedals but apparently its his special tbx tone knob, gold lace sensors and noiseless pickups that can also contribute to that Jeff Beck sound. A DSL 2000 Marshall head, his tremelo arm system and his finger style picking attack make up the rest.

I guarantee you that as a real guitar plucker you are going to wish you had these toys soon after starting this lesson. A lot of Jeff's genius is in his creation, his sincere love of playing the evocative sounds which he makes using effects. Its frustrating to be in a lower class for mere toys.
