The Guitar of Chet Atkins - Chet Atkins Page Three

gretch nashvil chet atkinsThe focus of this guitar lesson is mostly the fretting hand.

OK there is the huge pamphlet with all the songs. I wasn't expecting getting a whole course on fingerpicking with this and we don't. Chet was, and still is, famous, for his household word guitar course which was advertised in comic books among other places.

I never ordered the course. I wish I had now! I never got sea monkeys either. The late Johnny Winter initially learned Chet's style! With thumb pick.

Everyone of these songs proves Chet had vast musical knowledge, great taste and a mastery of acoustic fingerstyle guitar.

The last section is where Chet says good bye and he thanks a lot of people and talks about his many and wide influences and his great admiration for his buddy Merle Travis and even for Blind Blake. But there is quite a bit more and if you are a fan of Chet's this would be a splendid addition. You will be a fan. If you want to start from scratch check out my other fingerstyle recommendations.
